What is the difference between an animal ER and urgent care? The main differences between an animal ER and urgent care are cost, wait time, and the services provided. Animal ERs handle life-threatening emergencies like severe trauma, poisoning, or difficulty breathing and are open 24/7. They often have longer wait times and higher costs due to the critical nature of the cases they treat. Urgent care, like ours, focuses on non-life-threatening but urgent issues—such as minor wounds, ear infections, or allergic reactions—when your primary veterinarian is unavailable. Urgent care tends to be more affordable, with shorter wait times, but we do not hospitalize pets or perform surgeries.
-
What types of conditions do you treat? We treat urgent but non-life-threatening conditions such as ear infections, vomiting, diarrhea, minor wounds, allergic reactions, urinary issues, lameness, and more.
